At his 20105 En-of -Year Press Conference, President said he has no doubt that there will be a terrific democratic nominee and he will campaign for him/her. “I am confident that I will have a democratic successor. I will campaign hard for that,” said the president.
On foreign policy and the battle against against ISIS, the president said he is confident that the U.S. along with its coalition partners will defeat ISIS.
Obama defended U.S. intervention in Libya, and disagreed with critics of U.S. regime change policy. However, he suggested that there should be a revision of some of those cases.
In the last month democratic debate Democratic presidential Sen. Bernie Sanders pointed out that regime policy, which he said Hillary Clinton supported, has not been worked and that it is a disaster.
Pres. Obama admitted that the international community, including the U.S.did not do more to prevent Libya from a political quagmire in the aftermath of the collapse of Muammar Gaddafi regime.
He also commented on the collapse of the Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak authoritarian regime. “We did not deposed Hosni Muback. Millions of Egyptians did because of their dissatisfaction of corruption and authoritarianism of the regime,” argued Obama.
On Syria, Obama said Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with diplomats of different parties involving in the crisis and hoping for a peaceful political solution to end the civil war so all the focus could be on destroying ISIS.
